There are certain times when you will want to avoid cupping altogether, or modify your session …
As always, check with your physician to see if cupping is or isn’t appropriate for you at this time.
Here are some times when cupping should be avoided:
—Severe diseases (liver, kidney, organ failure, etc)
—Blood disorders, hemorrhagic disorders, or circulatory conditions. If you’re seeing a doctor for some type of blood or circulatory disorder, use caution and get approval physician before doing any cupping, because cupping is greatly enhancing your circulation…That may not be the result you’re looking for, so check in before moving ahead.
—Broken skin, hernia, or allergic dermatitis. Avoid cupping over these areas.
—If you are pregnant or nursing, please check with your doctor first, as each woman’s case is unique.
—If you are feeling under the weather, ill, fatigued, exhausted, etc., it’s recommended to either wait until you are feeling stronger, or cup more lightly (shorter duration or intensity).
This is not an exhaustive list, but it gives you some idea of times to use caution.
Please check with your healthcare team to know what you need at this time!
